Kevin Graham Responds To Sun Times Article...

Dear Fellow FOP Members,

As many of you already know, the Sun Times, one of the most anti-police newspapers in the country, published an article yesterday suggesting there is a problem with my residency in Chicago. This article appeared at the same time ballots for the runoff election are arriving in members’ mailboxes.

Kevin Graham, FOP Candidate For President

As with so many families, mine hit a rough patch and it was decided that my wife and I should live apart for a short time. My wife is a physician, so she purchased a home in the suburbs closer to where she works. I remained living in Chicago.

That’s it.

Andy Grimm of the Sun Times seems to think this is newsworthy. We were getting calls last week that this hit piece was circulating around the city. That the Sun Times would put a picture of the house in their story, telling the world where my wife lives, is a despicable act.

Our slate will never put a candidate’s family life in front of the media.

Never.

Graham Picks Up Key Endorsements In Runoff Election...

Blue Voice Candidate Kevin Graham

Blue Voice candidate for president Kevin Graham announced today that he has received the support of two other presidential candidates in the upcoming runoff election.

“I am pleased and honored that candidates Jim McGuire, patrolman, and Gerald Cruz, detective, have endorsed me for president. Both men have sterling reputations and ran excellent campaigns,” Graham said. “I look forward to working with them over the course of the next three years.”

Here are their endorsements:

"Over the past several weeks I went out to district roll calls and spoke to the men and women of the Chicago Police Department.   I discussed with the membership several issues I felt were important to both active and retired officers.  These issues and concerns about what is affecting Police Officers and Detectives are the same for Kevin Graham.  After the ballots were counted, a new board was elected.  I am voting for Kevin Graham in the runoff election to lead this newly elected board to change the direction of Lodge 7.
                                                                                       Fraternally, Jim McGuire 018

"I am grateful for the support shown me by so many of my colleagues and Retired members of the Chicago Police Department.  This election process has been grueling and informative as I now have a clearer understanding of what is important to the members of Lodge 7.  It is for that reason that I am supporting Kevin Graham for President in the runoff election because the current President has either not heard the members wants, is incapable of achieving them or both, and it is time for the changes that Kevin can bring."
                                                                                              Fraternally, Gerald Cruz

In addition to the support of McGuire and Cruz, First President Elect Patrick Murray, who ran with Jim McGuire on the New Direction slate, has also endorsed Graham, recently campaigning with Graham at roll calls on the west side.

Ballots for the upcoming runoff election are in the mail. Results will be announced March 29.

Presidential Candidate Kevin Graham Announces Debate After General Membership Meeting

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Dean Angelo has used the Lodge website to send out information regarding a debate tomorrow night. Using the lodge website for electioneering violates the election rules. More importantly, Dean has never discussed the “debate” with me. He picked the location, set the rules, and will receive the questions ahead of time if members aren’t able to make the meeting. This is not a fair and impartial debate.

I look forward to debating Dean Angelo. I am suggesting that we debate on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at the FOP Hall immediately following the FOP meeting at noon. This is the best way to afford all members the opportunity to attend the debates. I am also suggesting we meet with the independent arbitrator sometime this week to set up the ground rules.

We want a fair debate that will allow the members to see both candidates. The dog and pony show that was put together by Dean is unacceptable. No President of this Lodge would or should accept the terms in which Dean set this up.

Hopefully we can come to an agreement and look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday.

Fraternally,

Kevin Graham
